Latest (11.6) Production and Market Situation of Cassava and Starch in Vietnam

Last week, first of all, in terms of production, as of November 6th, there were about 84 starch factories in operation (week on week+12), and starch production continued to increase significantly week on week. The supply of raw materials has continued to increase compared to the previous week, and potato prices have fluctuated and fallen; At present, the average production time per week in starch factories is 5.8 days (+0.3 days compared to last week); The purchase prices for fresh potato raw materials are as follows: 2800-2900 VND/kg in the southern region (compared to last week's -100 VND/KG, local potatoes, discounted by 30% flour content), 2700-2800 VND/kg in the central region (compared to last week's -100 VND/KG, discounted by 30% flour content), and 2250-2350 VND/kg in the northern region (compared to last week's -200 VND/KG, raw potatoes). Secondly, in terms of the market, due to the continuous insufficient demand in the Chinese market and the fluctuating prices of cassava raw materials, the export market of cassava starch in Vietnam has maintained a downward trend, with prices still closing at a slight decrease. The latest quotes for mainstream brands are (Qingdao Port CIF): low-end products 425-435 (-5), ordinary products 440-450 (-5), and high-quality products 450-460 (-5) (USD/ton).
