Analysis of Domestic Corn Starch Production and Market Situation (11.25)

Last week (November 17-23), the domestic corn starch spot market maintained a volatile and wait-and-see trend due to factors such as a stable and fluctuating corn market, as well as relatively stable starch production and demand. Among them, prices in northern production areas closed flat, while spot prices in ports and southern sales areas closed slightly higher. At the same time, trading volume remained relatively stable on a weekly basis. According to market monitoring and statistical information from "Starch World" website, compared with the previous week, the average spot price of corn starch in China has increased by 20 yuan/ton (sampled average), and the total trading volume has increased by 0.0%. Secondly, in terms of production, stimulated by sufficient raw materials and stable market conditions, the operating rate of corn starch factories has still increased (the operating rate is about 68.5%, an increase of 1.5 percentage points compared to last week). Finally, as of the weekend, the corn starch market quotes from various regions are as follows: Harbin 2660 yuan/ton (up 0 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Changchun 2710 yuan/ton (up 0 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Shenyang 2750 yuan/ton (down -0 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Qinhuangdao 2850 yuan/ton (up 50 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Shijiazhuang 2830 yuan/ton (up 30 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Guangzhou 3000 yuan/ton (up 30 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Shanghai 3020 yuan/ton (up 30 yuan/ton compared to the previous week).

This week (November 24-30), it is predicted that the supply, production, and sales of starch factories will remain relatively stable. After comprehensive analysis, we believe that there is an 80% chance that the domestic corn starch spot market will maintain a fluctuating and wait-and-see trend, and the market average price (sample average price) may close flat. At the same time, the weekly turnover ratio is still roughly the same.
