Analysis of Domestic Corn Starch Production and Market Situation (2.10)

    Last week (February 2-8), due to the overall impact of factors such as the recovery of the corn raw material market and the incomplete resumption of work by manufacturers after the holiday, the domestic corn starch spot market maintained a volatile and wait-and-see trend. Among them, spot prices in northern production areas, ports, and southern sales areas all closed with slight increases, while trading volume was still significantly insufficient compared to before the holiday. According to market monitoring and statistical information from "Starch World" website, compared with the pre holiday period, the average spot price of corn starch in China has increased by 15 yuan/ton (sampled average), and the total trading volume has decreased by 39.0%. Secondly, in terms of production, due to the impact of holidays and slow resumption of work, the operating rate of corn starch factories is still at a low level (about 53.0%, a decrease of about 15.0 percentage points compared to before the holiday). Finally, as of the weekend, the corn starch market quotes from various regions are as follows: Harbin 2540 yuan/ton (up 10 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Changchun 2600 yuan/ton (up 20 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Shenyang 2650 yuan/ton (up 30 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Qinhuangdao 2710 yuan/ton (down 0 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Shijiazhuang 2710 yuan/ton (down 0 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Guangzhou 2920 yuan/ton (up 20 yuan/ton compared to the previous week), Shanghai 2950 yuan/ton (up 30 yuan/ton compared to the previous week).

    This week (February 9-15), influenced by the continued acceleration of post holiday resumption progress and factors such as stable and rising raw material prices, after comprehensive analysis, we believe that there is an 80% chance that the domestic corn starch spot market will show a stable and rising trend, and the market average price (sample average price) will close with a slight increase. At the same time, the weekly turnover ratio will be greatly amplified.
