《喀麦隆论坛报》9月16日报道，喀麦隆国家根茎类农作物生产发展计划（PNDRT）自2006年成立以来，已向国内木薯种植业和相关技术培训学校提供木薯种苗335.1万株。
为应对粮食危机，PNDRT计划至2009年实现木薯种植培育面积1000公顷，为国内种植业提供木薯种苗1000万株，以支持喀麦隆国内木薯生产。除此之外，PNDRT还通过修建仓库和市场摊位等帮助农民组织和开拓木薯市场销售。目前PNDRT正计划建立市场信息系统，利用移动通讯平台在木薯生产者、加工者和销售者间建立信息交流渠道，方便农民进行交易。
