日前从广西平南县传出消息：当地木薯最高亩产达5503.17公斤，刷新广西木薯亩产最高产量的记录。
高产的木薯种植地在广西平南县镇隆镇马旦村，据了解，该木薯基地面积达300亩，主要栽培木薯品种为新选048。经平南县产业办、科技局、统计局、财政局等部门组成技术人员现场砍挖，结果平均亩产4787.5公斤，其中新选048品种最高产量地块亩产达5503.17公斤，比2009年广西最高产量地块亩产记录5207.3公斤超出了295.87公斤。
据当地农民介绍，优质品种高产量木薯的种植方法，主要采取深松垄作，合理密植，株距85厘米，行距100厘米，亩植约780株，施以氮、钾肥为主，及时除草培土和病虫防止，适时砍收木薯。
