6月27日泰国《民族报》讯，受政府替代能源发展政策刺激，泰国木薯种植业前景光明。
据报道，目前泰国每年有约200万吨木薯用于加工酒精-汽油混合燃料中所需的乙醇，而今年初乙醇日产量110万升，其中约30万升采用木薯，80万升采用蔗糖浆，木薯供应量不足是乙醇制造商选择蔗糖浆原料的主要原因。业内人士预测，由于国内许多乙醇加工厂将陆续投产，今年底的乙醇日产量可飙升至412万升，全年对木薯的需求将增至4-5百万吨。
目前泰国内木薯收购
价格约为3-4泰铢/公斤，而政府对乙醇的控制价格为23-24泰铢/升。
